Cessair: daughter of Noah's son Bith and his wife Birren. Advised her father to build an idol after he was denied a place on the ark. The idol told them to build a ship to escape the flood so they set off with a crew of three men and fifty women and sailed the world for seven years. They landed in Ireland 40 days before the flood and Cessair went on to die of a broken heart. The rest were wiped out by the flood, except for one (Fintan) who became a salmon.
